When the dunk contest started in 1976 players pushed themselves to their creative limits in ways the public had never seen to compete for high scores. Only the greatest players conceived and achieved the most impossible feat - taking off from the free throw line and slamming it home. It captured the fascination of many and spawned incredible photos, videos and stories that will be remembered forever.
